Time Flies

Time flies as these weeks go by. I had every good intention of posting last week, but time flew by and before I knew it, the week was done. I’m linking up this To Do Tuesday post with Texas Quilt Gal. Each week, we post our weekly project goals, then check back the next week to see how we’ve done. You’re welcome to join us, just jump in anytime.

Here’s my list from my last post two weeks ago:

Start

Challenge Quilt – this is due Nov. 1st – Not started yet!!!

Finish

  • QIS Monochrome Challenge – Done
  • Bind Plus Playtime, Beothuk, and 2020 MCC – Not done.

Prep

  • Red/Tan Quilt back
  • Backing for Coreopsis and Let Your Star Shine
  • These were completely ignored.

So it doesn’t look like much, eh? Here’s a few things I did get done:

  • Made a slipcover for a small piece of foam for a friend who broke her shoulder
  • Mended BigJ’s goosedown sleeping bag (Note I did not say I enjoyed it)
  • Made a Yellow Brick Road quilt (Teri Atkinson pattern) and added my own twists and turns to the Yellow Brick Road – more on that in another post
  • Taught a quilt class
  • Made a mini quilt to be gifted
  • Helped my daughter with her IKEA furniture construction (we made a good team)

Of the quilty things on the above list, here’s a few photos. The first is my monochrome quilt that I finished for the improv challenge hosted by Quilt Improv Studio. I did post a photo on Instagram, and you can read a few of my thoughts on construction at Quilt Improv Studio

The Monochrome Dreams challenge will end on October 18th. The challenges are open to anyone who enjoys improv. After the 18th, another challenge will be posted in a few weeks. If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to join in. Follow @quiltimprovstudio on Instagram for more information, or go to the link (above).

This quick little mini was gifted this weekend. I played around with some scraps and had a little fun. It measures 11″ x 21″.

The colors are more true in this next photo, and I thought you’d like a peek at the back. I quilted it with straight line quilting spaced 1″ apart. The Drunkard’s Path blocks are made with templates from Jen Carlton Bailly’s set, and the design is her Turbine pattern.

Here is the finished Hole in the Sky quilt.  In my last post, I hadn’t finished sewing down the binding, so I thought you might like to see it finished.

This week’s to do list is pretty simple:

The challenge quilt.

Of course I have other projects, too, but time flies and the challenge quilt needs to be started this week.
