I’ve had some Autumn fun in my quilt room this past couple of weeks, pulling out my fall fabrics after a visit to Buttermilk Basin’s shop with some quilting friends. If you are ever in Minnesota and near Buttermilk Basin, it’s worth a stop, especially if you enjoy working with wool. It’s a large shop, full of so many fun patterns for all seasons.
One of the patterns I came home with is called Autumntyme Quilt. It’s a little mini quilt that finishes 12″ x 16″.
I don’t have many Halloween quilts, and I don’t really decorate much for Halloween, but I couldn’t resist this one.
The little moon and the bat made me smile.
The pumpkin was fun, too, although his mouth is a little strange – next time I might tweak it a bit.
The little quilt went together quickly – I enjoyed an evening of wool appliqué while I watched a show.
I didn’t do any fancy quilting, just some straight lines lengthwise on the quilt, using the four patches for guides.
For the backing, I found this very vintage fabric in my stash.
I don’t recall the designer of this fabric, and there were no selvedge markings. I wonder if it’s a Debbie Mum print. It’s definitely been in my stash for awhile! Once the quilting was done I added a black binding.
My Autumn fun continued with another little wool appliqué piece, but I haven’t finished it quite yet. I’ll show it to you soon in another post.
What about you? Are your fall fabrics coming out for Autumn fun in your quilt room, too?
Happy Friday, all!
Wendy
